I went with the John Deere S100 because I wanted a straightforward riding mower for maintaining a larger yard without spending hours behind a push mower. After getting everything set up, the first thing I noticed was how simple the controls were to understand. The 42-inch deck covers a good amount of ground on each pass, and the mower has been comfortable to operate around trees and along the edges of the property.

The cut has been clean and consistent on my lawn, and being able to adjust the cutting height makes it easy to get the finish I want depending on how quickly the grass is growing. Overall, the S100 feels like a practical, dependable mower for regular residential lawn care.
